Get help finding nearby people, displaying items, and saving files.
Finding another device
Open Nearby Access on both iPhones and allow Local Network access when prompted. Keep both apps open and nearby. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth availability can affect discovery, even when you are not using an internet connection or the same Wi-Fi network. You can refresh a person’s display if their items change.
Sharing an item
Build a list of photos, videos, files, or links in My Display, then turn on Display when you’re ready for nearby people to browse. They choose what to open or save, so you don’t need to select each recipient. To add one item quickly, choose Nearby Access from another app’s Share Sheet using Quick Access. Keep both apps open until a transfer finishes. Password-protected items require the correct password.
Saving a received file
Tap Download and choose a destination such as Files or Photos when offered. Opening an item for preview does not automatically save a permanent copy. If a transfer is interrupted, keep both devices nearby and try again.
